Out of the Southern Caribbean is born a riddim,
The Raa Raah Riddim. It isn't just your typical Soca riddim, rather it's
a collection of diverse elements of style; a tantalizing soothing fusion
of Dancehall, Crunk, Zouk, Roots, Bouyon, Hip Hop blending into Soca.
The man behind this riddim is Patrice Reggis who produced and mastered
all the tracks, resulting in a brilliant mixture of original beats and
international sounds. Certainly he's going to be the most sought out
producer for 2006. The riddim hits many issues and situations such as
the increase in crime and violence in the Caribbean; where "Crocodile"
hits them with his track "put down the gun", inspirational songs from
the number one Soca gospel artist "Emrand Henry" reminding us of where
we stand with the kingdom of God. Ninja Dan chants his track about
keeping focused and not giving up in life, as he says, "we not giving
up, we going for it." Very motivational; King of Bouyon music in
Dominica Mr. Benji tags with Slaughter Arts rapper Al kaholic and they
sing about "Jah Creation" with a hard Bouyon flavour to the riddim.
Now if you’re in the club, you know you gotta have
some Nigel Nicholas and Kakle!!!!!, They’re featured with The Raa Raah
Joint itself with serious lyrical content; 'fling it up, dig it, ram it
up and laugh ,Wine a lil faster you are the Soca gangsta.' ha ha.....The
upcoming Soca Diva of St lucia 'Qpid' jams on the riddim with the track
called 'Bumpa Roll', this is guaranteed to have your booty shaking.
Slaughter Arts brings you new artists like Negilla
Cenac, Pedro, Illahman, Cherry l, Prophet Joel, Shep Dawg, Dupes, KAyo,
Skeemz, Priscilla, Nferno & Babygirl Trish dropping my personal favorite
song "Show me what u got", that track is hot, hot, hot!!, or should I
say fire!!!!!! And you know if there is too much fire you need water, so
my boy Rankin a.k.a the Soca Mafia hits you with a track called "Wet."
This riddim is crazy, featuring artists from all over: Barbados, St.
Lucia, St Vincent, Antigua and Dominica. The appeal of this album is
unlimited; each track has a different feel to it, and will suit every
one's tastes and may undoubtedly cause one to submit them to dance,
while experiencing pure listening pleasure. It is full of attitude and
is a fun record. Rhythmically, the album is TERRIFIC!
The Raa Raah Riddim is a project invested by The
Master minds of LYNX STUDIO, Gillbert Cooke and the folks from Slaughter
Arts.
