The St. Lucia Tourist Board’s regional St. Lucia Jazz and summer 2007
promotions kick into high gear this
weekend, as the organization’s marketing and public relations
departments set-off for select Caribbean destinations. This is in
addition to regional radio, television and print advertising that have
already begun in the region.
The chosen islands of Grenada, Trinidad, Barbados, St. Vincent and
Dominica reflect the regional markets that traditionally lend support to
the world renowned event and contribute to arrivals from the Caribbean.
The Board’s officers will engage in blanket coverage of travel agents
and other industry partners to ensure they are familiar with the 2007
St. Lucia Jazz offer, as well as hold initial discussions on the Board’s
plans for regional summer promotions. They will also do a number of
radio, television and newspaper interviews in each of the islands to
create the media buzz around St. Lucia Jazz and inform on what specials
will be available in St. Lucia for summer 2007.
Interest in this year’s jazz event has been high throughout the region,
since the announcement of the line-up, which includes more smooth and
straight ahead jazz. Performers include David Murray and the Gwo Ka
Masters, Natalie Cole, Al Jarreau & George Benson, Brazilian sensation
Tania Maria and Grammy winner John Legend.
Officers of the Board begin traveling from Friday April 13th,
2007, with Grenada as their first target.
St. Lucia Jazz runs from May 4th to 13th, 2007 and
tickets go on sale from April 14, 2007.
