"ST. LUCIA SWEARS IN A NEW
CABINET OF MINISTERS"
St. Lucia's new Prime Minister Sir John
Melvin Compton today announced St. Lucia's new Cabinet of Ministers to run the affairs of
the Government of St. Lucia for the next 5 years.
Announced today were 11 Senior Ministers
and 4 Junior Ministers or ministers in the Ministry, as they will now be
referred to instead of the title Parliamentary Secretary as in the past
years. The ceremony took place today 19th December 2006 at
St. Lucia's official Prime Ministers Residence at Vigie in the capital
of Castries.
St. Lucia will now have a Government
comprising of 16 ministers to include the new Prime Minister Sir John
Compton.
The following is the list of Ministers
announced today from the now ruling United Workers Party in St. Lucia.

The first two major undertakings for the
now ruling United Workers Party will be the presentation of the Annual
Budget for 2007 to 2008, and the hosting of the ICC Cricket World Cup
Matches to take place in St. Lucia February through to March of 2007.
St. Lucia's opposition party will now be
comprised of six members of the St. Lucia Labor Party to include former
Prime Minister Dr. Kenny Anthony, Former Minister of Trade, Industry and
Commerce Phillip J. Pierre and four new players in the game, Harold
Dalson, Moses Jn Baptiste, Alva Jn. Baptiste and Dr. Robert K. Lewis.
In his opening remarks the Prime Minister
of St. Lucia Hon. Sir John Compton referred to his list of chosen
individuals as a set of Horses for Courses to assist St. Lucia through
its troubled times.
